I have minimal skill in PS so I often use actions, but I don't like to just click a button and be done with it. I am working with an action at the moment called Midnight Sepia (you may have noticed). Right now I am trying different variations with my old images and looking to get 'under the hood' as it were to see what makes the action tick.
If you want to learn more than the basic PS functions then I suggest you get some of the free actions out there and learn what and how they do things. When I edit my pictures normally I often use techniques discovered by taking apart an action.
I think this version of Stasia with angel wings is the best I have done, in part because I went back to the old PSD file which had all the adjustment layers intact and corrected a few errors that I had made when I first took the shot.
